Emergencies
If you are an MSU study abroad student: contact the on-site program director or leader.
For any MSU students, faculty and staff only: You may contact the University and seek its advice or assistance if your host country emergency services are not readily available and you feel there is a serious threat to your personal safety, security, or health. To contact the University, follow these procedures:- Call the MSU emergency number (517) 353-3784 collect. The phone is answered by the MSU Police Department; they direct calls as warranted. Carry the number with you!
- Be prepared to:
- State your name and identify yourself as a faculty or staff member or an MSU study abroad student.
- State where you are.
- Give contact information including a phone number at which you can be reached.
- Explain the nature of the emergency.
- Listen carefully to any instructions you are given.
