There is no surefire way to guarantee safe and illness-free travel, however, education and reliable information will be your best defense.
Start by reviewing all of the information listed in our Know the Risks section. This will familiarize you with the various health problems you could encounter while traveling.
Next, use the Know your Destination section to research the countries you will visit. From meteorological climate to political climate, there's no such thing as "too much information" here.
Paying for travel is never easy and it seems something always gets overlooked. When setting a budget be sure to include costs for any necessary vaccines, medications, and travel health insurance. Visit our Costs page for MSU Travel Clinic prices.
Finally, complete the following steps to ensure a quick and thorough Travel Clinic appointment:
- Travel Vaccine Planner - It is mandatory for patients to print this form and bring it, completed, to your appointment. Failure to do so will result in a $15.00 fee.
- Travel Video - The "Healthy Adventure" video gives instruction on travel preparation and avoiding risks while abroad.
- Parking - Our map illustrates conveniently located public and employee parking. All patients are encouraged to park in off-campus city lots, due to a parking shortage on campus.
